童謡「海」のサックス８重奏アレンジです。親しみやすい歌の旋律はそのまま残しつつ、波のさざめき、汽笛の音、大海原へ漕ぎ出ていく高揚感などを盛り込み幻想的に展開させました。岐阜県で活動するスマイルサクソフォンアンサンブルさんからの委嘱で編曲した作品です。「岐阜には海がありませんが、海への憧れやキラキラと光る海を感じて頂けるように」という素敵なコンセプトに共感し、エモーショナルな編曲になりました。
　
Umi (The Sea) is one of the most famous children's songs in Japan. This arrangement was commissioned by Smile Saxophone Ensemble in Gifu Prefecture. They wanted to give the audience a fantastic image of a dazzling sea and evoke their longing for it. I empathized with this concept and created this emotional score. You can also enjoy the sounds of the murmuring sea, a ship's whistle, and the excitement of rowing a boat to the great ocean.
