　『会津磐梯山』は日本を代表する民謡の一つといって良いでしょう。拙作『日本民謡による狂詩曲』にも登場するこの名旋律を、スケールが大きく躍動感に溢れた変奏曲に仕立てました。サクソフォーン４重奏のためのオリジナルで、重厚感のある作品だけにリサイタルでの演奏にも適しています。2021 年、当地出身の山浦雅也・陬波花梨両氏を中心とする「会津サクソフォンプロジェクト」により依嘱・初演。

This original work for saxophone quartet was based on famous Japanese folk song "Aizu Bandaisan" and was commissioned and premiered in 2021 by the "Aizu Saxophone Project" led by Masaya YAMAURA and Karin SUWA, who are both from this area. (You might found Aizu Bandaisan as appearing in my "Rhapsody on Japanese Folk Songs")

This variation will be completely suitable for not only casual concerts, but also serious recitals, from its big scale and technical attractions.
