トルヴェール・クヮルテット委嘱作品。19世紀ウィーンにおいて絶大な人気を誇ったシュトラウス一家の音楽。現在もニューイヤーコンサートをはじめ世界中で愛されており、優雅で魅力的な作品ばかり。しかしトルヴェールのための作品ですから優雅なだけでは勿体ない！お客様も演奏者自身もお思いきり楽しめるような仕掛けをふんだんに盛り込みました。超絶技巧、スリリングな掛け合い、音楽の冗談や楽しいお芝居など・・・。なおストライク・アップとは「始めよう」というような意味の熟語。シュトラウスと韻を踏める楽しい言葉はないか？と考えて付けてみました。登場するシュトラウス作品は全11曲。「美しく青きドナウ」「皇帝円舞曲」「春の声」「ウィーンの森の物語」「トリッチ・トラッチ・ポルカ」「雷鳴と稲妻」「こうもり序曲」「ピッツィカート・ポルカ」「アンネン・ポルカ」「常動曲」「ラデツキー行進曲」と怒涛のように駆け抜けます。
Commissioned by Trouvère Quartet. The music of the Strauss family was immensely popular in 19th century Vienna. Even today, their works are loved all over the world, including the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic, and are full of elegance and charm. However, since the works are for the superb players, it would be a shame if they were only elegant! I have added a lot of tricks so that both the audience and the performers can enjoy themselves to the fullest; brilliant technique, witty dialogues, musical jokes and funny acts, etc. I thought of a humorious word that rhymes with "Strauss" and gave it the name "Strike up". Now, there are 11 Strauss works in total that appear and rush through: "An der schönen blauen Donau (The Blue Danube)", "Kaiser-Walzer", "Frühlingsstimmen", "Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald", "Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka", "Unter Donner und Blitz", "Die Fledermaus Ouvertüre", "Pizzicato-Polka", "Annen-Polka", "Perpetuum mobile" and "Radetzky-Marsch".
