広島交響楽団チューバ奏者、古本大志氏の委嘱による協奏曲。ソリストもバンドも思いきり楽しめる曲を！ということでフランス語のFantaisie= ファンタジーに“Fun” = 楽しいを織り込んでいます。もっともこれは表向きの説明で、真の意味は「楽しい大志」だったりするのですが。この陽気極まりない友人には本当に多彩な魅力があり、少しでも多くそれを皆さまに味わっていただくために３つの曲想――ソウルフル／おどけた／ロマンチック――をおもちゃ箱のように混ぜ合わせました。この曲が演奏されてホール全体がハッピーになる…そんな光景がこれからもたくさん広がることを願っています！

A single-movement concerto commissioned by Taishi Furumoto, tuba player of the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra. With the aim of creating a piece that both the soloist and the band could really enjoy performing, I based the title on the French word “Fantaisie” and wove in the word “Fun”. Of course, that’ s just the official explanation; the true meaning is actually “Taishi, the Man of Fun.” This incredibly cheerful friend of mine possesses a wonderfully rich and multifaceted charm, and to let everyone experience as much of it as possible, I’ ve mixed together three main episodes—soulful, playful, and romantic—like toys spilling out of a toy box. I hope this piece will continue to bring joy and happiness to audiences everywhere, filling concert halls with smiles and excitement!
